Does your kid in foster or kinship care dream of playing guitar?

The Isaiah 1:17 Project and Moore Guitars are giving away two guitars to two teens looking to learn

Apply Here

Moore Guitars will be donating two new, high-quality entry level guitars to kick the project off, and provide an initial lesson to each person selected. Prior skill isn’t necessary, just be 12-16 years of age, have an interest in learning to play, and be willing to commit yourself to practice.

Afterwards, The Isaiah 1:17 Project will put you in touch with a mentor, who can answer questions and hop on for the occasional video or in person chat.

To enter, click the link above, fill in the form and tell us why you want to learn to play. Feel free to talk about what you hope to learn, what kind of music you want to play and how you intend to commit yourself to learning.

Already play? Let us know and we’ll see what we can do to help you out!

Benefits of learning guitar

  • Improves academic performance, particularly in math.
  • Encourages expression of emotions, creativity and reduces stress.
  • Boosts self-confidence, improves focus and improves self-discipline.
  • Improves hand-eye coordination, develops fine motor skills.
  • Teaches collaboration, cultivates social skills and forms friendships.
  • Provides a lifelong skill and enjoyment through music.
  • Provides entry into a community that spans the globe

Wanna be a real guitar hero? Volunteer to mentor

We’re looking for skilled players to answer questions, give advice and from time to time, demonstrations either remotely or in person.

Each Hero will work with one young person, at your own convenience. Teaching experience isn’t mandatory, though helpful. All it takes is a willingness to share what you know, and help inspire the next generation of pickers.

If you’re interested in making a difference in a young person’s life by providing expertise and inspiration, email Admin@theisaiah117project.org.

Got a musical instrument you no longer play?

We’re looking for new or gently used instruments we can pass out to more students wanting to learn. Email us at email Admin@theisaiah117project.org to arrange a drop off at one of our offices.

Cash donations accepted as well!

The benefits of playing a musical instrument among kids from troubled backgrounds are well documented. The Isaiah 1:17 Project wants to provide opportunities across the area we serve. Won’t you donate and make the world a better sounding place?

About our partner …

In an era of faceless e-commerce giants, Moore Guitars stands apart. They have the soul of a local guitar shop and the reach of a global powerhouse. They aren’t a tech company that ships boxes, but a team of musicians who built a world-class store. Whether you’re visiting them in Evansville or browsing from the other side of the planet, you’ll get the same expertise and passion.

Their Evansville, Indiana showroom is still the heart of everything they do, but now players across the country and globe can get the same experience shipped to their door.

Online or in person, you get the same expertise, the same white-glove care, and a crew that still believes in the handshake.
